At Miraflores Winery, we produce balanced new world wines, and indulge the senses with gracious and welcoming surroundings.

Miraflores Winery was established in 1998. The first vines were planted during that year; the first vintage was produced in 2003. The 254-acre high-elevation property is located in the Pleasant Valley region of Placerville, runs on solar energy; part of the property is planted with 16 different grape varietals. Marco Cappelli has been involved in our winemaking from the very beginning. Marco brings extensive experience, integrating unique and modern winemaking styles. Under Marco’s tutelage, our current winemaker, Fernando Abarca, continue to produce wines that have received numerous awards and accolades, including more than 80 wines that have received 90 points or above from the Wine Spectator and the Wine Enthusiast publications. Miraflores is proud to have been voted one of El Dorado’s best wineries for 9 consecutive years, from 2015-2024.

Our Tasting Room was fully completed in 2010. The goal was to create the best of a blend of Mediterranean and California Gold Country; a space to allow time to slow down and relax. Pieces from all over the world accentuate the casual elegance of the winery, from massive recycled wooden beams from the Oakland Ferry Building torn down in 1936, the 200-year old stone flooring recycled from the Mediterranean basin, and the 13th century fireplace from Crete.

Escape the hectic pace of everyday life at Miraflores and enjoy an array of wines in our tasting room, barrel room, or on the rustic stone patio overlooking the vineyards. Attend year-round events, including summer food and wine pairing lunches, with chef-created four-course meals paired with the wines selected by the winery on-site sommelier. Complimentary year-round barrel tasting, along with futures purchasing program, is available.

Miraflores is committed to protecting the local fauna and flora, establishing wildlife corridors for the free movement and migration of the animals and being Fish Friendly Farming Certified.
