2023 Estate Yellow Block Zinfandel:

With a claim to fame of 17 consecutive vintages of 90+POINTS awarded by Wine Spectator, the Miraflores Zinfandel is a wine that is consistently high in demand and is one of the premier estate wines of Miraflores. The nose of the 2023 vintage is with raspberry jam, zesty white pepper, and baking spices. The palate is soft and creamy with a rich finish of pure vanilla bean, making this wine a true pleasure to drink.

2023 Estate Syrah:

Exotic aromatics of mulberry, clove, coffee cake, dried eucalyptus, and fennel.

The palate is plush with a very long finish teeming with flavors of squished fresh blackberries mingling with stewed cranberries. The estate Syrah, one of the original varietals planted and the flagship wine of Miraflores, has previously been rated as one of Wine Spectator’s Top 3 California Syrahs.

2023 Estate Cabernet Franc:

Pretty and feminine, our high elevation Cabernet Franc shows off a complex nose of dusty plum, blueberry, and lychee complementing a crushed limestone minerality. Lighter bodied with dried rose petal notes permeating the palate, along with fresh raspberries, and mouth watering acidity this is an addicting wine to enjoy along with being a food pairing delight. Pair with an oven roasted chicken breast crusted with Provencal herbs and Dijon mustard alongside sautéed Swiss chard and potatoes au gratin.

2023 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon:

An enticing and juicy wine, bursting with a blend of red, black, and blue fruit along with caramelized brown sugar. It is smooth, silky, and luxurious from start to finish.

Our Estate Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard planted on a 2200 foot south facing slope is one of the highest elevation planted Cabernet vineyards in California.

A perfect wine to pair with Osso Bucco and mashed potatoes, Beef Bourguignon, hearty cold weather comfort cuisine.

1. Reserve a complimentary & private seated tasting for you and your guests in our barrel room, featuring a “wild card” selection of 5 wines chosen and presented by Miraflores General Manager & Certified Sommelier, Ashlee Cuneo. The wines may include Library, Futures, Sparkling, Red, White, Rose, and/or Dessert wines. The wines will be accompanied by small bite pairings.

Available by reservation only on these select Saturdays:

February 8th, February 15th, & February 22nd

Reservations taken on a first come basis only for up to 10 people per seating

*Reservations must be a minimum of 4 total

This month we are featuring our 2021 Estate “From the Ashes” Yellow Block Zinfandel

We’re offering 30% off each bottle purchased at just $26.60 for the entire month of January.

The vivid imagery of smoke and fire paints two contrasting pictures; one with beautiful memories of roasting marshmallows over a campfire, savoring a mouthwatering bite of smoky brisket plucked straight off a grill, or enjoying a velvety sip of peated Scotch on a chilly winter evening. The other; a harrowing experience of a massive wildfire. For the residents of Northern California, the delicate balance between warmth and dread is palpable, as memories of the massive 2021 Caldor Fire that raged and burned over 220,000 acres of the Sierra Nevada are now seared into minds for years to come.

Miraflores, like many others in the region, has a story to tell when it comes to this challenging event. The fire raged, destroying the entirety of the winery’s forested area, several rows of vines, and two out-buildings, while simultaneously raining heavy ashes to rest on already-ripened grapes.
After heavy deliberations, a decision was made to harvest and vinify each of the 16 estate varietals. Following months of barrel tasting and in-depth examining of each smoke-soaked wine, Victor Alvarez; Miraflores proprietor, made the final decision to bottle just one of our red wines from the 2021 vintage; the Yellow Block Zinfandel.

Smokey notes found in wine, liquor, and cuisine have the ability to enhance other flavors, while also evoking warm and cozy feelings; the 2021 Yellow Block Zinfandel is evidence of this. Aromatics of raspberry cordial, ripe blackberry, singed cherries, cocoa, bourbon vanilla, and cedar box mingling with a complex earthiness of crushed fall leaves. The palate is unctuous with notes of chocolate covered cherry, ripe blackberries, and green peppercorn, mingling with subtleties of roasted green bell pepper and fresh eucalyptus. The finish is toasty, velvety, and mineral-driven, coating the palate with a chalky, limestone minerality.
