Description
A Red Meritage is a blend of two or more of the red “noble” Bordeaux varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and the rarer St. Macaire, Gros Verdot, and Carmenère. If the blend includes any other grape variety, it is not a Meritage and no single grape variety can make up more than 90% of the blend. Our 2018 Bordeaux blend is crafted using Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from our high elevation estate vineyards. Complex, nicely balanced aromas of cigar box, fresh-tilled earth and black currant with a hint of vanilla, this blend offers a rich palate, fine tannins and full body with great acidity. The loaminess follows through the nose with a polished, seamless finish. This wine makes an excellent pairing with a beef brisket.
